twice today i was mistaken as not a chinese or not a local. 1. my lecturer asked if i was nepalese. haha. hilarious! 2. then while having dinner with serene, a guy suddenly jumped to our table and asked me if i was pure blood or mixed blood. oh my goodness, i got a shock of my life la! (good thing i didn't scream. or else, so embarrassing. lol) and we figured that the guy was betting with his fren to see if i was mixed anot. they have like nothing better else to do can... then giving people a heart attack!
now, let me test you how well is your media awareness.. hee hee. see if it's true or false. this was what we did for electronic media today.
1. cats are more likely to watch television than dogs.
2. on a typical day, Singaporeans made about 15 million SMS msgs.
3. Radio China International broadcast 1400 hours per week.
ans..
1. false. - a research was done and it was proven that dogs are more likely to watch tv than cats. goodness, people spent money on such details. hahhaha! then the lecturer gave the reason that becos dogs "woof woof" at the tv, whereas cats "meow". HAHAHAHAH!!!! we laughed so hard. so lame la!
2. true. - it's no wonder why telecomm makes so much money.
3. true. - seems unbelievable becos in a week there isn't 1400 hrs. but the truth is becos news that is being aired is translated into 47 languages and broadcasted at the same time.
mass comm is very gp-lish and lit. for the mass media research, one of my modules, we gotta critic the articles - the tone, the slant, diction.. then my 2nd module, electronic media, gotta write about implications of the different kinds of media, globalisation of mass comm.. so razal. haha. (mrs ho, i don't think ur socio is linked to media?haha)
