BLESSED CHRISTMAS!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!

the performance by HARVEST KIDZ & youth H.U.B. was superb! this was the first time the kids did a play instead of their usual item of singing songs. this year, roles were switched around. the youths took over to sing instead. haha. it was cool!

message was good! and the best part was that christina's friends that came got saved! AMAZING! the angels in heaven are rejoicing. wow!

the real meaning of christmas is because " born to you this day in the city of David, a Saviour who is Christ the Lord." =)

ppppreeettty bride!

daddy & mummy posing their wedding shot. haha.

my wonderful grandparents! =)

2 princesses & a prince. LOL

back to the olden days of black & white coloured photos

the bride and groom's dog, hika
it was such an exciting day yesterday. one of my aunt got married. we had to wake up before sunrise around 5 plus because we had to be at her house at 7. matthew was the main person involved because he had to open the groom's car door when the groom would come to pick the bride up. the bride was so pppprrreeeeetttyyyyy! and her dog got dressed up too. so cute!

it was hilarious seeing the groom and his buddies trying to complete the 'tests' at the gate as fast as they could before entering the house. the first test was for his buddies to eat tomatoes. it seemed easy. but to their surprise, each tomatoes had different fillings inside. one was wasabei, green chilli, sour plum, don't know wad's in the other two tomatoes. the second test was to name 5 reasons why he chose the bride. this was pretty simple. then next was the giving of red packets to the ladies at the gate before he could enter the house. and the final test after entering the house was to write 10 commandments what he will do with the bride. the commandments he laid out were so funny. but out of the 10, half of the commandments had something to do with housework. LOL. and finally he got to see the bride.

then there was the tea ceremony and lunch. and we departed till we meet again at night.

the solemnization and dinner was at C.H.I.J.M.E.S. since we were there early and the solemization got delayed, we ended up taking many many pictures. it was such a nice environment. and the ambience was lovely too! whaha!

everthing was simply magnigicent! =)

2nd day at work (wed). had one day break on tue because the company had some incentive field trip out for their employers. aniwae, daddy was laughing away "work one day and rest one day." such a relax job. ahaha!

went to work from 12 to 9.30 today. though we had to work a few more hours than monday, we had made more appointments than monday and we also had more entertainment (acted by actresses wee wee and charcoal). LOL. it was so hilarious! we couldn't stop laughing because we were "commenting" how the people responded to our wonderful call and how "nice" their names were. we had fun!

then we gave blackie2 like more than 10 miss calls because she didn't pick her phone up the whole day. and also because we were quite bored of calling already. then finally blackie2 picked up the phone, and we asked her to come join us for dinner. had fun disturbing each other during dinner time. LOL.

then we had to go back to the office and start calling again. this time, we targeted at those home numbers. and households are taking very very long to pick up their calls. wasting our precious time. whaha! the opportunity cost of waiting for the households to pick up their calls is high because the alternative forgone is those calls that will pick up the calls very quickly and giving us chances to make appointments. haha.

aniwae, my hypothesis is that morning and evenings are the worst timings for appointments to be made because so far only the working hours are ones that will attract appointments. whaha!

Monday, December 05, 2005

woo! today's my first official day at work ever since i entered this world. whaha!

aniwae, serene and i were given a stack of numbers to call. and can you imagine just in one day, we dialled 15 pages of 20 names per page of numbers (do your own math calculations. haha). *we're seeing numbers!* ahaha!
and we repeated sentences after sentences for the "thousands" of calls and only to find out that at the end of the call, the client doesn't want to make an appointment. (wasting time and saliva. LOL). initially, it's quite a boring job because all day long, you're faced with a something that has a wire and buttons (yes, a telephone!) and pieces of paper. but the hilarious part is the answers that clients respond with. it's really funny. haha. furthermore, there were 2 calls that had to be communicated in cheena. serene helped me to communicate for the first call (THANKS WEE WEE) but poor me was trying very hard to speak fluent cheena language in the second but i ended up directly translating word for word from english to cheena hence it didn't really make sense. it was soo soo funny! serene was laughing away at her seat. whaha!

after dialling so many numbers, we managed to fix some appointments. phew! haha
and for today's pay, we earned ourselves $42. whaha!

Saturday, December 03, 2005

no more frictional unemployment because i've been employed! i'll be working as a telemarketer. calling out for anyone who needs to buy insurance. i'll help you fix an appointment with our insurance adviser. haha. aniwae, after being frictionally unemployed for more than 2 weeks, it's time to get a job because i need to buy many many many things and i bought quite a handful of items already. dissavings are occuring as Y < E. whaha!

miss ho! aren't you proud of your student?!! (you better be.whaha!) LOL. i'm applying what i've learnt. haha.

Tuesday, November 29, 2005

presenting.....mr and mrs darcy. must be wondering who those people are, especially those who have not read pride and prejudice. watched the show today. it's a reallie nice show. a hardcore romantic movie. so go catch it. haha.

i have been frictionally unemployed for almost 2 wks. haha. employment is on the way. feels great to be carefree, without having to worry about waking up late, tests, exams, unfinished homework and scoldings. but i miss those school days with many many friends that will keep you insane. whaha! especially the other sixes. miss their laughter, crapiness, lameness.

Sunday, November 27, 2005

yippee! the christmas tree is up. christmas is just a month away! parties, prezzies! yay! can't wait! aniwae, christmas is not about parties, celebrations, parties, celebrations. but parties are not to be missed. haha. christmas is about the birth of Christ, the One who came to save us. yeah!

Saturday, November 26, 2005

a few of us went to xueyi's house yesterday. we gave izzy a surprise bdae celebration. and she's reallie thrilled at her bdae prezzie we got for her, becos it's candles. her favourite! haha. aniwae, i learnt how to play majong. haha. got kinda scolded and laughed at for the first few rounds because silly me didn't know how to play and there was no one beside me to help me. and xueyi was calling for a rescue team to replace me. whaha! it's all for the fun of it. don't worry, there was no money involved. majong is quite a thinking game because it makes you count the dots or stripes on the tiles. and you must be able to count fast or else everyone will start "screaming" at you. ahaha!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IZZIYANA SUHAIMI!

Friday, November 25, 2005

CONGRATS! to all pri 6 students who did well in their PSLE! the atmosphere was tense. parents and students waiting eagerly to know the results. i was in my brother's school buying his school books, hence seeing all the different faces of the school boys - both happy and disappointed faces. it thus brings back old memories of how i was once a pri 6 kid sitting for PSLE. and in a flash, i have sat for the A levels. and in 3 months time, it'll be my turn to collect my A level result....
totally awesome! the youth camp that ended yesterday was fun and simply amazing! we had a wonderful time together! we had exciting games, movies, outdoor activites, telling of stories and of course spiritual food. it's reallie cool to see that the bonding among the youths are growing closer each day. this is so as to prepare us for the expansion of the youth group.

during one of our sessions, each individual youth was to share what God was to them and the common thing that everyone mentioned was that they can feel God. there is something inside them that will comfort them when they are down, or there is this peaceful feeling inside them or you'll have this intuition about somethings' (things of God are always benefiting to us). therefore, God is real! and this kind of feeling is indescribable and totally magnificant. Lifting up holy hands is a sign of total surrender to the Lord. it's nothing to be ashamed of. yeah! and we should keep our focus on Jesus for He is the author and finisher of our faith. we should also rely on Him for strength for He is our source of strength. we also learnt that all things are possible with God. things may seem impossible for men, but NOTHING is impossible for our heavenly father! yup!

just to let you know that angels do exist because someone on earth has actually seen one. wow! cool!

PASSIONATE YOUTH CALLED OUT OF THE DARKNESS & INTO THE LIGHT OF THE CHOSEN GENERATION

Saturday, November 19, 2005

here's what's happening for the past few days...

on the 2nd day of freedom, i actually woke up at 6 plus. weird! slept for only 5 plus hours. and on usual school days, waking up at 6 is a dread. i felt so energized. haha. and can u believe it, i was at home on my 2nd day of freedom. ain't i a good girl??! wahaha! nonsense la! would i actually stay at home after all that exams? definitely NOT! haha. had wee wee, izzy, xueyi, aunty, fuifui and cherryn over at my house. we did baking. haha. it was so fun! some were edible, but majority of the cookies and cupcakes that turned out were charcoal black. (i did not turn black.haha) think the oven was over-heated. and also because there was direct insolation on the cookies and cupcakes. especially for the cupcakes, we could see it expanding till there were lines of weaknesses. sheet joints appeared and the resultant shape was an exfoliated dome. wahaha!

on sat, was busying preparing for the youth camp. so fun and exciting. can't wait for the camp. yuppie! then we had the worship open house. it was kinda sad that only a few people turned up. and majority of them were youths. but then again, we can see that the youth team is rising. yeah!

today's sunday service was power! worship was reallie reallie good! the tangible presence of God was so amazing. sermon was fantastic. pastor talked about the 3 types of grace - grace to save, grace to stand & grace to serve. God's grace is totally amazing. He knows when and how to give to give it to us. wow!

i'm extending an invitation to all my friends, please keep 25 DECEMBER 2005 (sun) free, come for my christmas celebration in church! it's going to be reallie cool and fun! and your live will never be the same again! i'm serious. yeah! =)

Thursday, November 17, 2005

WOO-HOO!!!! this day has finally arrived! after soooo long. FREEDOM! here i come!! no need to touch books until next year when i enter uni. no more ECONS, no more hohoho, no more niaming! so relieved!

however, today marks the end of JC life. and the most memorable thing about JC life is your friends! and classmates! and DEFINITELY the unitedness (if there's ever such a word) and laughter of 04A1. but not the P, the uniform or the classrooms. maybe the funny, lame, naggy and suaning teachers.

CONGRATULATIONS! for all who have endured this long journey!

it's been a long time since i walked into takashimaya, heeren, wisma, etc. after studying for sooo long, it seems like you have been disconnected with the world. so many changes have taken place. new shops surfaced, old ones disappeared.

Heavenly father, i wanna thank you for bringing me through these 2 wks of exams. it was draining to the body and mind, but You gave me the extra strength needed to pull through because You said in Your Word "i can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". all praise and glory goes to You! Amen!

Sunday, October 09, 2005

God. i cry out to you to help me pull through this month to the A's. i feel like i'm in a pressure cooker. i can feel the pressure - expectations, hopes, completion of revision in time. help me get enough rest. it's too tiring. lost of sleep. so many things happening, and still got to cope with hw and revision. dark rings are appearing. Lord, i pray for You to multiply my time so that i can complete my revision in time. in Jesus name i pray.

and God reassured me during today's service. one of the worship song touched me. tears rolled down. "You are the peace that guards my heart, my Help in time of need". could feel God's presence in my midst. totally awesome!
finally! the date for the event has been fixed after my exams. why is it that the adults will listen to adults and not the involving party who is not an adult. requested for a change in date but to no avail. it was only after daddy spoke for me then she did decided to change the date.thank you daddy! =)
wadever the case, the 'storm' has cleared. everything's fine now.

HAPPY CHILDREN"S DAY!!!

the three kids of the tan family =)

Sunday, September 25, 2005

why bother asking? when you have already decided when to have the event? was it because it was your obligation as a leader to ask everyone in the team whether they're were okay with the date? or was it because you left me out the other time that you wanted to make up for it? when you came asking me twice whether i was okay with the date of the event, could i say that i'm not alright with the date that you fixed? like "no, i'm not okay with the date", does it make a difference? would you reconsider again? and change your mind about the date? obviously not, because it's back to square one. the original date that you fixed quite some time ago. and just because i'm the youngest in the team, the only one have A's this year, the only one on study break, does that mean that i'm insignificant? and have no say on things?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SERENE WEE WEE WEE!!!
hope you had fun today! with all the crazy things we did. haha.

before going to town to meet serene, adel and jiaxin. went to xue yi's house. and i had to walk a long long distance before reaching her house. it felt like i was on foreign ground, even though it was only bukit batok. haha.

then we went to meet jessie before heading to town. had crystal jade for lunch. and as usual, i cldn't finish my bowl of noodles. so had jessie's and xue yi's help in helping me finish my food. haha. then we met wee wee, adel and jiaxin. it was a totally entertaining and enjoyable day! plus disturbing jessie and wee wee and they disturbing me too. and doing insane stuff along orchard road. haha. and i met quite a number of frens at different locations in town. it was such a coincidence. lol.
the extended quadrangle

the new science block
went back to mg today to find mz tan and the other teachers. the sch looks to different now. the general office has shifted to ground floor and the HOD teachers now have a special section in the staff room. and mz tan was saying dat our B4 girls did better than her B1 girls in the prelims. shocking.
wooo hoooo!!!! prelims are over! horray! but still got the A's to work for. 46 days more days! =)

after the econs paper yesterday, wee wee, izzy and i went to go jp to walk, walk and walk. it was becos we didn't want to go home so early. haha. it was freedom after 2 weeks of exams. before we gotta start mugging for the A's. hee. and poor jezze still got her bio paper today. and we were all teasing her that she had to go to sch today and we don't. haha. after jp, went to meet up wif yeeks in town to celebrate our 'freedom' from exams. haha.

calling for estheeerrrr yeeks! had loads of fun wif you yesterday! despite it being only less than 2 hrs! we were actually meeting up for dinner but we ended up skipping dinner becos we walking into the shops in PS. it was fun and enjoyable! haha. but u noe la, i can just skip dinner for shopping. haha. but yeeks had a late lunch, so she was alright. haha. and we're good. we cld even buy a spag within that short amount of time. haha. we must do it again. yeah. hee hee. and coincidently, nat called yeeks. so managed to talk to her for a while after so long. missed ya nat, yeeks, sanne, chris, sabby, alish, sarah!

HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY!

today was one-of-a-kind, extraodinary teachers' day. had only 1 hr of concert and datz it. but it was during that 1 hr dat made the difference. during the concert, there was this game where the student was supposed to identify a teacher's voice that was being recorded. no clue was given. and because my class was sitting in front, my very smart friend, shouted out my name. and the emcees heard it. so they came down from the stage and asked me for the teacher's name. i so cld not identify the voice because that teacher was a science teacher. so embarrassing. it was a good thing that i did not have to stand up to answer. phew! haha.

Sunday, August 28, 2005

in a twinkling of an eye, another week has passed. time seriously flies by so quickly. this week has been a rather unfruitful week because of all the mock papers that has disrupted my study plans. why give mock papers when you're not done with revision. mock papers are meant to be a gauge for you to see where you stand after all that revision and not meant for those who are not done with revision. the mock papers start like in the late afternoon and ends like 6 plus 7. so by the time i reach home, it'll be like 7 plus 8. and it's really draining to come back from school so late everyday. why can't the teachers think?

Tuesday, August 23, 2005

don't i look cool in the shades...

slacking at the sports carnival

Monday, August 22, 2005

vroom vroom. sat in daddy's new car. the car is huge. slighly bigger than the previous one. and the seat are really cool. the centre seats are like 'individualised'. somewhat like the airplane seats where you can bring your own seat down. and the car now has a tv. toally fabulous!

and today is the start of the week. it's going to be a scary week. there is going to be mock papers everyday except for tue. phew. and today's math paper was a killer to us students. but the teacher said it was a manageable. this has been a total wake up call for all of us.

prelims are in 3 weeks time. gotta go study. tata!

today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!!

mon 8/8 - had national day celebration cum sports carnival in sch. what a way to celebrate. anyway, the highlight of the day was watching Charlie and the chocalate factory. it was Mz tan's treat. a rare occasion indeed. sanne, aren't you jealous? haha. it was soo soo funny. could practically laugh from the start to the end of the show. the atmosphere in the cinema was so lively. and the kids were laughing and talking so loudly. willy wonka, willy wonka...

sun 7-8 - even with only a few hours of sleep, i felt so energetic and hyper. it was definitely by God's grace! and i brought the spirit of worship from FOP back to church. worship was totally magnificent!

sat 6/8 - went to Festival of Praise starring Delirious and Hillsong. the night was TOTALLY AWESOME, FATASTIC, AMAZING & UNFORGETTABLE!!!! the stadium was filled to the max. praise God for everyone of them. got front seats and the view was superb! we rocked the stadium with our praise and worship all because we love God. sang my heart out praising and worshipping God. almost lost my voice. but i couldn't care less because all i wanted to do was to stay in His presence, praising Him just as i am.
message by Rev Colin Dye was good! "Not just to know Him, but to make Him known."
Lord Jesus, You're everything i need. in Your presence, i'm changed.

Majesty, Majesty
Your grace has found me just as i am
Empty handed, but alive in Your hands
Majesty, Majesty
Forever i am changed by Your love
In Your presence of Your Majesty

the 'gang' from mgs

eating the yummy mashmallow

sanne and i

me, christine, sabby, sanne

what have i been doing for the past few days.

sat - finally all 8 of us actually managed to catch up with one another. it felt so complete, unlike the past few times when not everyone turned up. the bbq at sanne's place was one of our unique dinners. food is being placed on the table and we get to eat in comfort. never will you find such an ambience!

sun - the morning started with a heavy downpour. went to church as usual. pastor was like talking about overcoming fear. we need not fear because 'He that is in me is greater than he who is of this world'.

mon & tue - raining. raining. and raining. the weather is so perfect to snuggle up in our quilts and sleep. why can't the hols just arrive. lol.

enjoy the week everyone!

Saturday, July 09, 2005

why does one shrink their responsibility when something goes wrong? but gains credit when everything is smooth sailing. life is simply unfair.
finally..the weekend arrived!

went out with my mg darlings yesterday after eons. went to nydc in holland village for dinner and the food was simply delicious! after that we went to coffee club for desserts. i must say, the desserts there are superb! it was so so chocolaty..yummy!! while eating, we were chatting about those days we had in mg and laughing about the things we did in class. and how 'naughty' or 'guai' we were. haha. we totally had a great time together. =)

Thursday, July 07, 2005

went back to mg today. met up with miss tan and mrs choo. chatted for a while because they had to rush off for some meeting. and the school was still in the midst of construction with the quandrangle being extended. the primary school toilets looking nicer. the new block, where all the science labs and lecture theatres were, looks like a condo. the classrooms were bigger too. and the list goes on.. why couldn't we enjoy the new facilities? hmm.. but at least we didn't have to go through the noisy and dusty construction.

then sanne and i went to coro for lunch. had the yummy lemon chicken rice and bubble tea. and it was decided last min that we met up with alicia and mel in little india. and because sanne gave the wrong instruction on where to find alish and mel, we ended up walking through the tekka market. but they were actually in tekka mall. haha. felt a tour guide bringing the tourists - alish, mel and sanne to buy bangles. after that we went to chinatown. walked through a street of shops where they bought some stuff. and i was trying to remember where was the shop that sold cheap cds. finally after turning left and right, we found the shop.

after a whole day out, i finally returned home with a ache on the shoulder. so sad. but it was enjoyable touring around the heritage places of singapore. lol.

Monday, July 04, 2005

HAPPY YOUTH DAY!

yesterday was youth sunday. church's worship was really good! there is power in expectancy! all things are possible to Him who believes!

and our youth present from the church was to have a bbq at night. it was decided totally last minute after service. the food was great and we all had fun! the guys were the chefs cooking the food, and the girls were just in charge of eating. =)

and i learnt how to play the...violin! my first song was twinkle twinkle little star. it was pretty easy. but to someone new to the instrument, your neck will ache after some time. whatever the case, learning how to play a song within a night gives you total satisfaction. must be wondering why was there a violin at a bbq. well, it's because someone had her violin lesson before the bbq.

at first, there were plans of watching a movie with my friends. but it was cancelled in the end. so i ended going out for lunch with my sister and 2 church friends. and studying for the rest of the day. =>

Friday, July 01, 2005

finally! our whole mid-yr exams are over with the gp paper being today. paper 1 was rather tricky. had a difficult time choosing which question to write about. paper 2 was more of a literary passage. but overall paper was do-able, but at times challenging.

weeeeeee...time zooms past you and before you know it, it's FRIDAY! thank God for weekends. one week passed, nine more weeks to go before the sep hols and then the prelims.

i must say that this week's been a rather easy going week, compared to the weeks before. suppose it's because most of the teachers have completed their syllabus except for econs and human geography. oh well. got to start revision soon..

nitez!

Majesty, power and love,
holiness, peace from above,
with me in mind,
Lord You took the blame,
Jesus there is power in Your Name

~ Power in the Name
despite the mc, i still went to school. there were too many things that couldn't be missed. and the teachers all began their lesson by telling us that there was only a term to revise all that we learnt. time flies really fast. it's already the 2nd semester. and there seriously isn't much time before the A's..

this means..more work and less time for play..

Sunday, June 26, 2005

today is the last day of the school holidays. school is starting tmr. monday blues....=( and to make things worse, i woke up today with a sore eye. the doctor said that it was because there were some virus that were from my nose that travelled to the eye, thus the sore eye. this is some complicated medical stuff. he prescribed some eyedrop and cream for me plus 2 days of mc.

the most depressing news today was that i couldn't attend church service because of this sore eye..i was couped up at home to recuperate. but nonetheless, after half a day, the sore eye was practically almost gone. the doctor said that it'll take about 3 to 4 days before the sore eye would subside. i must definitely give thanks to God for healing me! and also with the help of the medication.

gotta go finish the ending stack of homework..tata for now!

ooo-hoo..spent half a day shopping at orchard with my aunt and sis yesterday. there were sales everywhere. duh, it's the great singapore sale. aniwae, the first stop of the day was at mango. it was really crowded, but i still managed to get some clothes. then i spotted huimin and agnes at isetan. such a pity that i didn't buy anything from there. so we decided to head back to far east. and this time i did buy...more clothes. haha. and the last stop for the day was at tangs. i decided that since i had already bought so many clothes in one day, i shall resist myself from buying anything at tangs. and i did. aren't i good girl?! yesterday was totally my day! and before i left orchard, i saw miss wee aka serene, olt and adel. what a small world!

at night, there was the worship team gathering. we had so much fun - laughing, eating, playing a short "game" and discussing about stuff. though the gathering ended later than expected, but who cares?! what is important is that everyone had a fantastic time! after the gathering it was worship practice for sunday. and the practice was really good because God was present. could feel His presence there with us. by the time we left the church office, it was already one in the morning. but i did not feel tired at all , considering being out all day.

...my soul is restored Lord
my mind is renewed
there's no greater blessing
then being with You...

yay! sanne finally came home! and sanne was so mean, she wanted to bluff us on her blog. she decided to arrived almost an hour early. so all 5 of us, were late in picking her up. what we saw instead was an empty belt.

then sanne had to come all the way back to the airport to pick us up.
afterwhich we went to eat chicken rice and now we all can fly!

sanne spent the 1st day after her arrival with me. felt so honoured. the first time that sanne ever stepped into my magical room. after exploring my room, we went to have lunch and then sanne cut her hair. when we came back, she helped me with my blog. thank you sanne! lastly, we watched Ice Princess before she left for home. a disney classic that will inspire you to learn how to ice-skate. what a happy day! =)
